Finding Time to Yourself

I'm all about working hard, but I also think it's important to work smarter. I first heard about virtual assistants from Tim Ferriss, but the I'm not going to spend over $100 a month on a virtual assistant. I know that subscriptions get you when you don't use it, but I've decided that anything under $20 a month would be acceptable to me, so I am pretty happy to find this service that helps me every month for 10 buckaroos.

The cheapest option is $10 for 5 tasks and I've used it for:

  1. Submitting a request through my credit card company for price protection when I saw something I bought recently went on sale (OMFG, amazing!).
  2. Finding a dentist that takes my insurance and scheduling that appointment for me.
  3. Signing up to register for my kickball league right at 10:00AM because spots sell out fast and you need to sign up within the first 5 minutes.
  4. Calling for restaurant reservations and having them look at my schedule to see if I'm available. Then emailing and calling all my friends to let them know when the reservation is set for.

For $10, this service is a steal.

Pros: Gets the random stuff done that you've been putting off, they follow-up with you via email or phone to make sure that it is being done correctly. and it's the cheapest task service I've seen.

Cons: Unless you mark it ASAP, it takes a couple days to get done. It's fine if you are not in a rush, but I seem to always want it ASAP. :)
